Why Dost Thou Forsake Us So Long?

Lamentations 5:19-21

Thou, O Lord, dost rule forever; Thy throne is from generation to generation. Why dost Thou forget us forever; why dost Thou forsake us so long? Restore us to Thee, O Lord, that we may be restored; renew our days as of old. --

O my Father, You have reigned on Your throne all the generations of my family line. For many generations, we have not known You, we have not been taught of You. But now, You have chosen My generation to draw me and my husband to Yourself; out of all the times, You chose this time. But my next generation is in danger of slipping into the same darkness of my past fathers, through the brokenness that has plagued my family line.

Please, I pray, draw my family together in Yourself, heal our brokenness and restore our unity as a family unit before You and in the eyes of the world. You began this good work in us, now I pray that You finish it in Your way, in Your time; whatever it takes to draw my children and grandchildren and their children to Yourself, and heal our family relationships. Then we will enjoy the benefits as a witness to Your beneficence, and You will receive all the credit, the glory.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
