"What Is Truth?"

John 18:38 & 19:7-8

"What is Truth?" Pilate asked.
The Jews insisted, "We have a law, and according to that law He must die, because He claimed to be the Son of God." When Pilate heard this, he was even more afraid. . . .

Pilate expected no answer to his question. He had no interest in Truth. But he was afraid. When he found out that Jesus claimed to be the Son of God, he was even more afraid. People do extreme things out of fear, so he handed over the Son of God to be executed as a criminal! Even after he admitted he found no basis for a charge against him (18:33).

Father may I do nothing out of fear, but in confidence in You.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

  1. Thank you, dear sister. I've learned why Jesus came to earth. He told us at His trial: "I have come to witness to the truth" - He also says that He is "the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father but through Me." When we believe and accept Jesus, He takes our fear away because He gives us His Holy Spirit! Amen? Amen!

  2. Thank you, Unknown. You know who I am, but who are you, (brother?
    sister?)? Do I know you?
