Limited Strength

Proverbs 24: 10

If you are slack in the day of distress, your strength is limited.

God gave me this verse when I fell and broke my hip, and my strength was gone!

The bone snapped at the neck of the ball, and the doctor preserved my own bone, putting in three pins.

I left the hospital the second day after surgery, and spent the next two nights at my daughter's.

Then I drove myself home to learn how to not put any weight on the injured limb.

That's when God gave me Proverbs 26:7, which says that, the legs of the lame man hang limp ..., and I had been trying to hold it up. Now that I could just let it "hang," my leg wasn't getting sore any more, and it healed completely in the six weeks I was given.

Then in another six weeks I got my strength back in that leg, so now I am stronger than before.

But God was so good to me, He surrounded me with my family and friends to encourage me and help me, and He brought me through. I am so thankful for all those who had a part in helping me cope and do what I needed to do to live every day and heal.

And I trust that I was a channel of blessing to those who stepped up to help, not a burden or complaining, but appreciative of all their efforts.

O my Father, thank You for all Your goodness to me! You are so good to all of us, every one of us, every day. Thank You for being my Source to supply all I need to live life in this realm, depending only on You and not myself for the strength and ability and means to accomplish what You have planned ahead of Time for me to do, to further Your great Plan of the Ages and promote Your Kingdom.

O Father, continue to work in me and on me, so that You can work through me to others, to draw them to You, to find Your lost sheep and bring them into the safety of the Fold, and to nourish them with Your Word, which is Spirit and Life.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
